Nepantla Atelier
At Nepantla Atelier (previously «Atelier Mexicano») we create and support artistic projects related to culture and environmental issues. Regarding social issues, we focus on migration, multiculturalism, identity, border cultures, and intersectionality, among others. Regarding environmental issues, we focus on the promotion and care of nature and its biodiversity.
With our projects we seek to generate positive social impacts that favor the construction of an inclusive, respectful, supportive and sustainable society.
The atelier was born in 2019 and since then we have had the pleasure of existing and sharing with countless people, which has nurtured each of our projects. Our goal is to be an atelier integrator of diverse knowledge, therefore, we are always looking for people to collaborate with, undertake new actions and explore interesting visions.

Being in Nepantla
The term «Nepantla» comes from the Náhuatl language that is still spoken in Mexico and has various interpretations such as: being in the middle, between cultures, center, the non-place, where mutualism develops, among others. Miguel León-Portilla, Gloria Anzaldúa and other great authors have been interested in this term due to its importance to explore concepts related to the continuous transformation of our identities and complex existence. That is why we are now Nepantla!
